3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data only for the purposes below and in line with applicable laws:

  1. Provide the Service – store recordings and transcripts; deliver mood analysis; sync your data across devices.
  2. Improve and secure the Service – analyse aggregated usage and diagnostics; prevent fraud and misuse.
  3. Communicate with you – transactional emails (e.g., password resets, subscription receipts) and service‑related notices.
  4. Comply with legal obligations – respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal Bases (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA/UK, we rely on:

  • Contract performance – to provide the Service you request.
  • Legitimate interests – to fix bugs and improve features (we balance these interests against your privacy rights).
  • Consent – where required (e.g., optional marketing emails).

  1. Service Providers / Sub‑processors
    • OpenAI, L.L.C. – receives transcripts only (no raw audio) for text‑based analysis.
    • Cloud hosting (e.g., Amazon Web Services or equivalent) – encrypted storage of transcripts and optional backups.
    • Apple Inc. – processes in‑app payments; provides anonymized crash reports.
  2. Professional advisors – auditors, lawyers, insurers under confidentiality obligations.
  3. Legal or safety reasons – if required by court order or to protect Ora Labs, users, or the public.
  4. Corporate events – in connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales (we will notify you and ensure successor follows this policy).

All third‑party processors are vetted and bound by data‑processing agreements.

6. Data Storage & Retention

  • On‑device audio remains on your phone unless you enable cloud backup.
  • Transcripts & mood data are stored on secure servers located in the United States.
  • We keep personal data only while you maintain an account or as needed to provide the Service, plus up to 30 days for backup redundancy. Aggregated, non‑identifiable analytics may be retained indefinitely.
  • You can delete recordings or your entire account at any time from within the app; this permanently erases associated data from our active systems within 30 days, subject to legal holds.

7. Security

We employ industry‑standard safeguards, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and encryption at rest (AES‑256) for cloud‑stored data.
  • Least‑privilege access controls and regular security audits.
  • Monitoring for unauthorized access.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Data portability – obtain a copy in a structured, machine‑readable format.
  • Opt‑out of marketing communications at any time.

Voice Page is not directed to children under 13. If we learn we have personal data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
